On Sunday, December 13, 2020, Darrell Miller, loving husband, father, and friend, passed away at the age of 62.
Darrell was born on July 27, 1958 in Marion, VA. He was a 1974 Gallatin High School graduate, received an associates degree from Volunteer State Community College, as well as Management Leadership certification from Northwestern University. He worked for the Tennessee Highway Patrol for 30 years where he retired as a Captain of Planning & Research.
Darrell had many passions and hobbies that ranged from writing poetry and gardening to mechanical work and collecting music. He was a friend to many which even extended into family-like bonds. He never met a stranger and would do anything to assist another person any way he knew how. Darrell pursued perfection within every moment or venture within his life and this was noticeable to all. His love for others was much like Jesus as it showed no regard for race, color or creed. He was a self proclaimed ‘simple man' but his life was extraordinary all in the same breath. He was also a member of Old Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Castilian Springs.
Darrell is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cathy of Gallatin, his three children, Gloria Spears of Gallatin, Marian Evilsizer (Joe Evilsizer)of Murfreesboro, and Benjamin Miller (Ashley Miller) of Lebanon. He was a grandfather of 7: Jared Spears, Trenidy Walker, Emily Evilsizer, Halle Evilsizer, Elizabeth Evilsizer, Elijah Miller, and Addison Miller. He is also survived by his mother, Rita Miller of Gallatin. A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Crestview Funeral Home and Memory Gardens in Gallatin, TN.
