LAVENDER, Cheryl Anne passed away on Sunday, May 15th, 2011. She was born in Bossier City, Louisiana, on December 18th, 1953. She was the daughter of James Donald Ratcliffe and Wanda Jean Ratcliffe nee Lawson. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, John Allen Lavender; daughter Holly Katheryn Lavender and husband David James Myers, III; daughter, Kylee Michelle Lavender; son Samuel Glenn Lavender; brother, Douglas Wayne Ratcliffe Angie; grandson Aiden Patrick Lavender. Cheryl was passionate about many things. She was an artist at heart. She taught herself to draw, do wood burning, pastels and other forms of art. She was a poet and she even had some of her poems published. She also loved music and was able to teach herself to play the guitar. She loved the outdoors and she especially loved to look at flowers and hummingbirds. She also loved all kinds of science fiction television and movies, including Doctor Who, Sliders, Fringe, Star Trek and Star Wars. She was a huge Titans fan and loved cheering them on with her family. Cheryl was a wonderful wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family and put them ahead of herself. It was very important to her that she introduced her children to her Savior and she raised them to know Him and the church. She had a heart for helping others in need, volunteering her time to work with church ministries and youth groups. She believed that the Lord would use her in the lives of others, and He did just that. Above all, Cheryl loved to have fun. She was a kid at heart and she loved playing friendly jokes on friends and family. She will be forever missed. A Life Celebration will be held 2pm Friday with burial to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
