Mr. Charles Willbanks, age 81, passed away on April 17, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born on May 10, 1939 in Jackson County, AL to the late Jesse Gilbert Willbanks and Geneva Reeves Willbanks. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Geneva Mae Willbanks, Jimmy Willbanks, Anna Ruth Freeman, Beatrice Frame, David Willbanks, and Horace Wilbanks, and former wife and friend, Sue H. Willbanks.

One of Charles' proudest and most loved titles was, Papaw. He loved his grandchildren. He also enjoyed being outdoors and working on cars. He also had a lifelong ministry as a pastor. He was a loving father, brother and papaw who will be truly missed.

Charles is survived by his children, Todd (Dawn, who was also his primary caregiver) Willbanks, Trent (Ana) Willbanks, Tyler (Kealani), Susan E. Byrum (Carlin Escue), and Rachel Willbanks; siblings, Kenneth Wilbanks, Judy (Wallace) Meeks, Linda England, Betty Hollingsworth, Glenn Wilbanks, and Gladys Frazier; sister in law, Sherry Wilbanks; 22 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 1pm, Friday, April 23rd in the chapel of Crestview Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 4-8pm on Thursday evening and again from 11-1pm on Friday prior to the service.
