Charles William Jones 89 born July 24, 1922, died February 2, 2012. He is survived by Grace Lynn Jones, his devoted wife of 69 years; his son, Mike Jones Jackie of Hendersonville, TN. and daughter, Dottie Sue Jones Willis Wayne of Louisville, KY. He was a hero and role model for his five grandchildren: Damon Willis Melissa, Justin Willis Kerry, Todd Jones; Lauren Long Chad; Carden Willis Courtney; and leaves six great-grandchildren to cherish his memory: Charles Jackson Willis, Anna Gracelynn Willis, Wyatt Blake Willis, and Clark Howard Willis; Shelby Ann Long and Addison Marie Long. He was looking forward to the birth of his seventh, Hayden Chadwick Long. Born in Daylight, TN., Charles Jones was preceded in death by his sister, Sara Jean Fritter of McMinnville, TN., and leaves one brother, Wayne Jones Mayjo of McMinnville, TN. He served in the Navy during both World War II and the Korean War, was a past President of the Stratford Men's Club, and a deacon responsible for church repairs at Riverside Drive Church of Christ. He retired from Englert Engineering Construction Company but continued to work in his lawncare business and garden into his early eighties. His family will always remember his example of independence and hard work, his unselfishness and delight in his grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Life Celebration Service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home with Billy Akin officiating. Interment will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
