Carol Waneita Christie

Carol Christie, age 78, of Gallatin, Tennessee, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at home, surrounded by her family.

Carol was born on September 9, 1945, in Plant City, Florida, to her parents, Ivy and Fannie Wilkes. At the age of 17, Carol married the love of her life, Willis Christie, on August 10, 1963. They raised two daughters together.  Carol was a woman of great faith, and for many years she worked as the secretary for Riverside Baptist Church, in Ft. Myers, Florida, for the Minister of Music. In 2004 the Christie family moved to Gallatin, Tennessee. They are current members of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville.

Carol was very dedicated to her family, and sacrificed for them. Carol was a problem solver, she enjoyed completing jigsaw puzzles, and cross words. She also enjoyed cross stitching, and gardening both vegetables and flowers- her favorite were hibiscus flowers.

Carol Waneita (Wilkes) Christie, is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James Willis Christie; daughters, Lisa Norrod (Matt Norrod), and Tisha Christie; grandson, Christopher Storath; sisters, Sylvia Youmans, Faye Baldwin; brothers, John Wilkes, Jr. Willis,  canine companion, Lady; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ivy Wesley Wilkes; mother, Fannie Lee (Walker) Wilkes; sisters, Cleone Franklin, Betty Ashley, Virginia Willis; and canine companion, Buddy.

Visitation with the Christie Family will take place on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 3:00 P.M., until 7:00 P.M., and again on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 12:00 P.M., until 1:00 P.M..

The funeral service of Mrs. Carol Christie will be conducted from the chapel of Crestview Funeral Home, on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 1:00 P.M., with Bro. Bruce Raley officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Crestview Memory Gardens.
