BACH, Byron Theodore, age 86 of Nashville, TN passed away on July 28 after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Luther and Linnie Rice Bach, brothers, Eugene Luther Bach, Dr. Lysle Bach of Hannibal, MO. And Sister, Alma Jean Bach Hutchings of London, England. Byron was born in Jackson, KY on October 27, 1922. He attended the University of Kentucky and was a graduate of the University of Louisville. He served in WWII in the Army Air Force. He was a Music Director with the Boone County, KY school system for 2 years. After moving to Nashville in 1958 he spent the first ten years as a manager of tobacco states Chemical Co. During this time, he began his 10 year tenure as a cellist with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra. He was a recording cellist with the music industry in Nashville and worked with multiple recording companies and artists, in varied musical genres. He was a member of the Founding Faculty of the W.O. Smith Nashville Community Music School. He was an active member of Belle Meade United Methodist Church for 41 years. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Martha Ann "Marty" Coleman Bach; children, Dr. Carole Ann Bach, Barbara Lynn Bach, Byron T. " Ted" Bach, Jr. Sherry, Cathy Bach Guenther Bob; grandchildren, Richard Matthai, Jr., Matthew Bach, Daniel Bach, Kevin Bach and Bobby Guenther, all of Nashville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and friends. He was treasured by his family and friends and will be terribly missed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 1, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Belle Mede United Methodist Church at 121 Davidson Rd. Nashville, TN 37205 with the Reverends Michael O'Bannon, Mike Ripski and Regina Proctor officiating. There will be visitation with the family in the church lounge at 10:00 AM. The music will began at 10:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Belle Meade United Methodist Church Music Fund, 121 Davidson Rd. Nashville, TN 37205 or W.O.
