Brenda Kay Wyatt Auer, age 78, passed away in Lebanon, Tennessee on Saturday, January 18, 2025. She was born in Clarksville, Tennessee on January 4, 1947, to the late Ray Wyatt and Joyce (Wyatt) Biter. Brenda is also preceded in death by her sister, Rita Harris. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, John Auer, her daughter, Melissa Ballentine (Charles), her son, Stephen Andrews (Jeana Beth); grandchildren, Cody Ballentine, Austin Ballentine (Courtney), Phillip Andrews, Pryce Andrews; great-grandchildren, Trystan Ballentine, Parker Ballentine, Skylar Ballentine as well as several nieces and nephews.
Brenda worked as a revenue officer for the State of Tennessee for many years before retiring and moving to spend more time with her mother. After a while, she decided to rejoin the workforce and found herself once again as a revenue officer, but this time, for the State of Florida.
After her mother passed on, she found love and remarried. She and John made their way back to Tennessee after retiring for a second time so they could be closer to family. She loved sitting around the campfires, the annual Mother’s Day camping trips where fried catfish was always on the menu, which was one of her favorites. She loved quick getaway trips to the mountains, but her favorite was just sitting on the beach, near the water and letting the waves wash over her toes. That was her happy place. A place she could stay for hours on end, just watching the sun cross the sky.
A memorial gathering will be held at Crestview Funeral Home in Gallatin on Saturday, January 25 at 3:30 pm with visitation from 2pm until time of service.
