Bonnie V. Abbott Paine, age 99 of Goodlettsville, passed away October 17, 2010. She was a beloved wife, devoted mother, loving grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher and active Baptist church worker. She was born 6 Nov 1910 in Trousdale, OK, 1 of Tennie and Frank Abbott's 12 children. She earned BS in Education from East Central State Teachers College. An educator for 30+ years, she began teaching in Trousdale, OK in 1934 English, Drama, and Coaching Girls Basketball. She then taught 2nd and 3rd grades in Claremore and Lawton, OK. She earned an MS in 1962 from U of OK and added Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology in January 1965. Bonnie's significant contribution to First Baptist Church Wanette , OK made possible the building of their Family Life Center in 1996. She married Gordon L. Paine in July, 1936, a loving husband for 59 years, now deceased. She and Gordon volunteered at the Lawton Christian Servicemen's Center. Bonnie is survived by their 2 children, Elizabeth Bob Davis Hendersonville, TN, & David Elaine Paine Burke, VA, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 sisters, Francis Grisham, Lois Abbott and Farrell Wilson. Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM, Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from the Chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-9 PM, Tuesday, October 19 and from 10 AM until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will also be held at 11 AM, Saturday, October 23 from the First Baptist Church in Wanette, OK with burial to follow in the Wanette Cemetery, Wanette, OK. The family will receive friends and family from 6-8 PM, Friday, October 22 at Primrose Funeral Service in Norman, OK. 405 329-9292.
