Billy Sam Murley

Billy Murley, age 72, of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away early morning, on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

Billy was born on December 15, 1950, to his parents William and Dorothy Murley, in Hartsville, Tennessee. He grew up in the country side of Hendersonville, and was a man of faith. As a believer in Jesus and The Lord, Billy attended the Methodist Church. As a young man, he married Elaine (Law) Murley, on November 22, 1967. They had five children together. Not including, his three cats Watty, Velvet, and Ebony. For work, Billy was a brick mason.

However, he also did car mechanics on the side, and enjoyed small home remodeling projects. He was passionate about his work. Billy spent his time raising gardens, fishing, and deer hunting. He was also a natural story teller, and loved to talk.  

His family will miss him dearly.

Billy Sam Murley is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Elaine Murley; daughters, Tanya Ray (David Ray), Mindy McCall (Charles McCall); sister, Judy McKeen; grandchildren, Jessica Wilder (Jarred Wilder), Mark Ratayczak (Krista Ratayczak), Kevin Anderson (Alicia Anderson), John Butler, Paige McDaniel, Sam Ray, Austin Ray (Tara Ray), Abbi Williams; and many great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Murley; mother, Dorothy (Oldham) Murley; daughters, Karen Hall, Kristy Holder, Rita Murley; brothers, Jack Murley, and Dean Murley.

The funeral service of Mr. Billy Murley, will be conducted on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 1:00 P.M., from the Chapel of Crestview Funeral Home, with Bro. Jarred Wilder officiating.

Visitation will take place at Crestview Funeral Home, on Tuesday, October 10, from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., and again on Wednesday, October 11, from 11:00 A.M., until 1:00 P.M..

Burial will immediately follow funeral services at Sumner Memorial Gardens, in Gallatin, Tennessee.

Those serving as pallbearers are Sam Ray, John Butler, Drew Wilder, Kevin Anderson, Mark Ratayczak, Johnny Coleman, Brennan Baker, and Wayne Goolsby.
