NACARATO, Betty Jean Ray, 82. Passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born August 18, 1930 to the late Joseph and Catherine Ray in Gary, Indiana. She was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School and attended Indiana University. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Joe and John Ray and sisters Catherine Ray and Thelma Rasch. She is survived by her husband Mike Nacarato of 61 years who she loved and adored. Betty was also a devoted and most loving mother of seven children Mary Ed Daily, Valerie Daley, Mike Teresa Nacarato, Jr, Lisa Bud Curtis, Joe Beth Nacarato, Ruthie Bill Green, Tom Nacarato. Fourteen grandchildren Eddie Daily, Patrick Allison Daily, and Julie Daily, Jacqueline Chuck Head, Mike Nacarato IV, Carly Nacarato, Matthew Brinton, Laura Brinton, Joey Nacarato, Tina Dave Eisner, Johnny Nacarato, Michelle Nacarato, Daniel Green, and Nicholas Green. Five great-grandchildren Avery, Zachary, Joshua, Betty Jean, and Lizzie Beth Head. Also survived by brother Charles Ray, sisters Dorothy Mitchell, Virginia Ray Hrezo, and Helen Willing, sister-in-laws Rosemary Lou Genduso, Tina Costas, Mary Ray; brother-in-law Robert Cheryl Nacarato. Numerous and loved nieces and nephews. Betty passionately fought for the sanctity of life of the unborn child through her time and efforts at Tennessee Right for Life, as well as Tennessee Volunteers for Life. She was active in many parish activities and held numerous volunteering positions at St. Henry, St. Matthew, and Corpus Christi Catholic Churches. She was very devoted to her faith and beliefs. Betty also enjoyed spending time oil painting, playing cards, and caring for her beloved family. Her sense of humor added many laughs and enjoyment to family gatherings. She will be truly missed by all who loved her dearly. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 17, 2013 from 3:30 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home and Thursday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
