Barbara Simons, age 81, of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away October 30, 2024, at her home.
Barbara was born on May 5, 1943, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to her parents, Roby and Gennie McPeak.
Barbara and her six siblings were raised in Scottsville, Kentucky. Barbara also worked at A & L Smith, in Scottsville, for over 25 years. She was a hard worker and knew the value of a dollar; she was always looking for the best deal and loved to go to yard sales. Following her retirement, she invested in a lake and beach property, where she vacationed. Barbara was the kind of woman who was gratified by the fruits of her labor. She enjoyed flower gardening, landscaping, and refurbishing projects. In her leisure time, she also liked to attend car shows. Her family will remember how bold she was, and her drive to be fiercely independent. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
Barbara Faye (McPeak) Simons is survived by her daughter, Faynetta Ann Lyle; son, Kevin Ray Simons (Shelley); grandchildren, Andrea Shantel Hutchings (Kevin), Dustin Ray Simons (Courtney), Nicholas Aaron Williams (Amber); 14 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Joyce Lovino, and Judy Bessinger.
She was preceded by her father, Reverand Lee Roby McPeak; mother, Gennie Louise (Shockley) McPeak; brothers, Dennis McPeak, Donald McPeak, Jerry McPeak; and sister, Nancy Woods.
Funeral services in honor of Barbara Simons will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024.
Visitation will be held at Crestview Funeral Home, from 12:00 P.M., until 2:00 P.M. Followed by a graveside service at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Dustin Simons Officiating. Burial will immediately follow.
