Barbara Burchett

Barbara Jean Burchett, age 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 17, 2020 in Portland, TN where she Resided with her daughter and son-in-law. She was born on May 23,1937 in Logan County to the late Arlis and Helen Sircy (McGuire) and resided in Adairville, KY for the majority of her life. She spent her career as an industrial worker. Displaying a hard work ethic that has been instilled in her children and grandchildren alike. She was an employee of the Hosiery Mill and Odom's TN Pride of Adairville, KY until she retired.

Barbara Jean truly loved the simple things in life like bridge mix, a good cup of coffee, McDonald's, Christmas, and her family. She never missed a good yard sale deal, always called you back, and (though she was a private person) made sure you knew how much you were loved. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter Karen Norris (Randy), Grandchildren Jessica Harris and Daniel Norris, siblings Becky Middleton, Doris Dunlap, Linda Cauley, David Sircy, Jerry Sircy, many nieces and nephews, and 6 great grandchildren (with one on the way).

Barbara Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Zachary Burchett (son), Howard and James Sircy (brothers), Ann Sircy and Anna Gunderson (sisters).

A private memorial service on Wednesday, November 11, 2020at 11:00 am at Crestview Memorial Gardens (1623 HWY 109 North, Gallatin, TN 37066). The family would like to thank Avalon Hospice (specifically Ashlen and Sam) for being a bright light on the hardest of days.
