Ann McAulay Knobloch, long-time resident of Jackson, MS. died peacefully Sunday, March 27 at The Meadows in Nashville, TN. She was 87. Ann was born June 18, 1923 in Muskogee, OK and moved to Jackson with her husband, Guy J Knobloch, Jr. in 1947.
She was active in church and school activities at St. Richards Catholic Church and St. Joseph High School while raising four sons. She worked for the State of Mississippi Dept. of Public Welfare for 20 plus years. Ann was a Life Master bridge player and an excellent cook who enjoyed socializing and great music. She was known for her quick smile, deep blue eyes, wonderful white hair and, of course, her well-manicured fingernails. She was once referred to as a 'big fan of everything!'
She is survived by her sisters Agnes Cox and Helen Hoagland and brother Walter McAulay of Tulsa, OK., sons Donald W. Knobloch and J. Fred Knobloch of Nashville, TN, Kevin F. Knobloch of Baton Rouge, LA, devoted daughters-in-law Caroline Knobloch and Kathryn Knobloch of Nashville, TN and Debra Knobloch of Baton Rouge, LA. and 7 grandchildren--Kendall Knobloch, Kelsey Knobloch, Kyle Knobloch, Thomas Knobloch, James Knobloch, Julia Knobloch and Sarah Knobloch.
Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Guy J. Knobloch, Jr. and their eldest son, Guy J. Knobloch, III. A memorial is being planned for family and friends in June of this year in Jackson, MS. Details are forthcoming. Donations can be made in her name to the charity of your choice.
