Captain Alfred Rappuhn, Jr. USNR-Ret, 86, of Pensacola passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Rappuhn was born in Flushing, New York and relocated to Pensacola in the early 80's. Captain Rappuhn was a United States Naval Aviator who served his country proudly for 42 years. He was a member of Naval Reserve Association and was a Naval Aviation Museum volunteer who organized the Big Band Concerts for 10 years. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of The Resurrection, David Robatzen, Pastor. He is preceded in death by his parents Alfred Albert Rappuhn Sr. and Louise Jepsen Rappuhn and his brother Gordon Rappuhn. Alfred Rappuhn, Jr. is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dotty; sister Elaine Nicholson of Coralville, Iowa; children Cynthia Rappuhn Smith Dave, Richard Rappuhn, Douglas Rappuhn Donna and Diane Rappuhn Matthews Robert; and grandchildren Mark Hutchison, Katherine Rappuhn, Steven Rappuhn, Natalie Rappuhn, Logan Rappuhn and Dudley Rappuhn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation and Covenant Hospice, both of Pensacola, Florida. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 1:00 – 2:00p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home, Hendersonville, TN.
